SYNOPSIS ABOUT ABB MALAYSIA SDN BHD
ABB's history in Malaysia began when the first power generator was installed in 1904 by MFO Oerlikon which is now part of the ABB Group. Today, most of ABB's operations are consolidated under ABB Malaysia Sdn Bhd which was established in 1973, with its head-office based in Subang Jaya, Selangor. As a leader in power and automation technologies that enable utility and industry customer to improve their performance while lowering environmental impact, ABB integrates the competitive advantage of its R&D strength, global experience and technical know-how with local customer interface, production and engineering capabilities.
Backed by a presence of more than a century in Malaysia, ABB’s innovations have helped customers to use electrical power more efficiently, to increase industrial productivity and to lower environmental impact in a sustainable way.
This technical visit will allow the participants to view in depth the development of Medium Voltage switchgear deisgn, construction, assembly, testing and commissioning features as implemented at the Subang Jaya ABB Plant. The processes established and in operations are as the company’s ISO 9001:2000 certification for Quality Management System; ISO 14001:1997 for Environmental Management System; and OHSAS 18001:2007 for occupational health and safety management system as accorded by SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd.
