SYNOPSIS
Malaysian Maritime Academy or better known as ALAM is a well-developed 30 hectares campus at the pristine Kuala Linggi, Melaka overlooking the busy Straits of Melaka. ALAM is committed towards being a recognised leader in regional maritime education and training excellence. ALAM’s specialised education system is one of the most fulfilling in the region. A balance of professional regimentation with a challenging college environment, ALAM’s system unites classroom education, practical training and development of professional skills. ALAM’s unique regimented education system is supported by modern state-of-the-art training facilities and expertise from permanent local and expatriate lecturers and instructors with professional qualifications and extensive working and teaching experience. ALAM aims to be the maritime academy of choice for young school leavers who dream of a disciplined and rewarding future. ALAM offers a complete range of maritime related courses and to date, more than 140 different types of maritime courses are offered. New updated courses are continuously being developed to provide the industry with the latest in technological and legislative knowledge. Through strong participation in the IMO’s standards for training and watchkeeping subcommittee, ALAM is able to ensure that all its training programmes are current and up-to-date. ALAM had successfully guided thousands of young aspirants towards a rewarding and assured maritime future and will continue to propel forward as the nerve centre for maritime excellence
