SYNOPSIS

In the event of a fire incident inside a premise, compartmentation is a key to protection life and property by way of delaying the spread of fire and smoke so that Bomba can arrive to put out the fire. Openings like doors are inevitable in any premises and during a fire mode, these openings are vulnerable to fire spread and smoke drifting to other areas both causing fire and smoke damage often result in injury or even death among the occupants.

This study tour aims to introduce innovative features that shall significantly enhance fire and public safety when use with fire-rated shutters. The key highlight of the study tour also focuses on Insulated Fire Shutters that is currently first in Malaysia and in the region to be 4 hours fire resistance and thermal insulated.

The briefing shall also provide guidance and recommendations to engineers on suitable specifications from a wide range of roller shutters/doors and add-on features.
